Troubleshooting: NoCry Paint SprayerUpdated 3 months ago
If you're not getting great results with our paint sprayer, here are some tips you could try.
1. First, measure the thickness of your paint if you haven't already. Paint thickness is measured by filling the included "Flow Cup" to the top, and timing how long it takes to empty. This will give you the "DIN/s" rating, which stands for how long it takes to empty the flow cup, measured in seconds. The higher this number, the thicker, more viscous the paint. For example, if it takes 90 seconds to pass through the flow cup (from completely full to completely empty), it has a 90 DIN/s rating. If it is above 100 DIN/s (takes longer than 100 seconds) then it is too thick for our paint sprayer, and needs to be thinned.
2. For thicker paints (more than 50 DIN/s, especially oil based paints), we suggest to increase the airflow to a higher setting and this will also help when you need to cover a larger area more quickly.
3. The paint volume dial (located behind the trigger) can be moved to change the amount of pressure that can be placed on the trigger, which will affect the amount of paint which is allowed to be sucked up the straw. Tightening this to the tightest setting will help more paint to flow through the straw, which is useful for thicker paints (more than 50 DIN/s).
4. The 2 dials at the front of the paint sprayer will change the paint patterns. The nozzle cap dial will change the pattern from a vertical slash pattern to a circular pattern, to a horizontal slash pattern as you spin it around. The spray adjustment leaver will widen or focus the spray size.
5) Also, try using a larger size nozzle, for example, the 2.6 mm.
If none of these works, we suggest diluting the paint a bit more.
