Troubleshooting: NoCry Moisture MeterUpdated 3 months ago
Your moisture meter is auto-calibrated and should be good to go straight out of the box. However, if you are having trouble with getting consistent readings, we have a few tips and tricks you could try to make it work:
1. Make sure that the moisture meter has been in the same environment as the testing material for at least 30 minutes for the auto-calibration to adjust and to get accurate readings. We have seen cases where the moisture meter has been sitting in a warmer environment for a long time before being moved into a cooler one, and this might mess up the readings.
2. There is a dedicated setting for each wood type and building material, and it is important to pick the correct mode to get accurate readings. The user manual contains a guide that shows which mode should be used with which material.
3. Are both measuring pins screwed tightly onto the moisture meter? If the pins are loose, you might get inconsistent readings.
4. Are both measuring pins being placed deeply into the material? The pins must penetrate the surface to be able to take a reading. The closer to the core you can measure, the more accurate your reading will be.
